Dancing Salsa in the Dominican Republic
Salsa has been a huge part of both of our lives, even before Gary and I met each other. I won't get into the whole story of how Gary and I met, but just know we met because of salsa. There is tons of salsa music in the Dominican Republic. It's definitely a part of the heart beat of Dominican culture. If you don't hear bachata playing, you're going to hear salsa. So, if you're in the DR and you're up for some fun, here are some schools to visit below. These guys are our friends and are family to us. Go tell them we sent you:

You can practice at their studios, go to one of their socials, and you'll find them at some of the hottest spots dancing, including Hard Rock Cafe, Punta Cana Salsa Congress, El Patio and more.
If you're new to salsa, maybe it's not necessary to get ballroom shoes, but if you continue dancing salsa, eventually you should get some. I've danced in Burju's for quite some time, but there are tons of brands out there. Here are some shoes to check out and music to get you ready! In one of my latest videos, you'll see that I do own Burju's. I can't remember if I've danced in Capezio's, which is the shoe on the top right. However, I am very familar with them and this style is a very classic style and color that a lot of dancers use. They're a great neutral color, especially for performances. Now I KNOW, some of you guys are going to be like, "Uh...you're forgetting to add this song to your list." Well muchachos, I have to make a short list, so tranquilo! Lol!

Ending this blog post, I just want to give quick special recognition to David Paulino. He founded Fusion Latina. He passed away recently at a super young age. He was a friend and a brother, and his legacy lives on through his friends, family, and all of his dancers at Fusion Latina. We love you and miss you David.
