Travel to the Dominican Republic

Travel to the Dominican Republic and have a blast! Just from my own observation, it seems like the top two places tourists tend to go to when they plan a trip to the Dominican Republic is either Santo Domingo or Punta Cana. Nevertheless, if you know anything about the Dominican Republic, you would know there are tons of areas to visit, in which I will explain more further below.

First things first, if you really want to experience the country and what everyday life is like for people that live in the Dominican Republic, I'm not sure how much of that experience you would actually get in certain areas, especially Punta Cana. Why do I say that? I see Punta Cana as more of a resort area. In either case, if you want some of the best Dominican Republic resorts, Punta Cana is an area that's definitely on the top of the list. It's really like a resort town. While you may find life outside of the resorts, it's still primarily an area where you just enjoy being on the resort.

Santo Domingo is where you get the city life and it gives you opportunities to mix and mingle with people from "La Capital."

So besides Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, where else can you go? These places below are other places that are popular to visit. If I leave any out, I apologize! Nonetheless, let's take a look:

- Puerto Plata (Note: There are a few towns in this province.)

- Samaná (Note: There are a few towns in this province.)

- Barahona

- La Romana (Note: This includes Isla Catalina.)

- Saona Island

- Juan Dolio

Concluding, before you go down there, maybe consider what it is the most you want to get out of your trip to the Dominican Republic. That might help you better decide where exactly you should go when you travel to the Dominican Republic.
